A strategic leader is one that establishes a mission and vision by involving all stakeholders, including staff, students, parents and community organizations, which is the driving force for all decisions that are made. They provide a safe environment that promotes reflection, collaboration, innovative solutions, and high academic standards. They empower participants to be leaders as well as proactive followers.
1a. School Vision, Mission, and Strategic Goals: The school’s identity, in part, is derived from the vision, mission, values, beliefs and goals of the school, the processes used to establish these attributes, and the ways they are embodied in the life of the school community.

1b. School Improvement Plan: The school improvement plan provides the structure for the vision. Values, goals and changes necessary for improved achievement for all students.

I participated in the process of finalizing our Strategic Plan (SIT Plan) with the School Improvement Team. Part of the process included participating in a
district review.

The results of the survey were discussed in our SIT meetings and help us to make current decisions for our SIT plan, committee plans and next year's planning. I participated in the process of developing the questions, creating the electronic version and compiling the data to share with staff and SIT.
1c. Leading Change: The school executive articulates a vision and implementation strategies for improvements and changes which result in improved achievement for all students.

Although administrators are on the committees, the teachers chair and run the committees. The administrators give input and feedback as needed.
SIT Chairs were responsible for PLC discussions:
In working through the process of identifying Core Values, I had all SIT chairs be responsible for collecting responses to questions that teachers were to reflect on. In their PLC's they were to discuss the responses and then identify the top 5 Core Values their team felt was important for Stocks. They were then responsible for sharing out in our SIT meeting so we could begin to make decisions about our Core Values. The following is the copy of minutes from the SIT meeting where chairs shared out.
